Cut the nails from little to little, but often, so the animal gets used to the cut and does not grow too much over time. Poor care can cause injuries and discomfort. Always cut the nails when the legs are clean: sand, dirt make cutting difficult and can cause infection.
Hold your pet's leg firmly and use your thumb to gently press the base of the nail to spread it slightly. Trim the nail at a 45-degree angle so that it is aligned with the tread when walking. Be careful with the blood vessel in each nail, and cut only the tip of the nail.
